SAF 2016: Farewell

Popping in to include my farewell post for Papertrey's #stampafaire2016.  This year's events have been so much fun to participate in.  Each of the DT members gave incredible tutorials on how to execute amazing projects and I am so glad to have gotten to see them doing their own thing in their own space.  It's kind of fun to see how differently each of you work!  Thanks for all you do!  It was fun to play along!

Here's a pic of me and one of the cards I created from this year's festivities:

Thanks again!  I look forward to next year!

SAF 2016: Color Blocking with Lexi Daly

Hello...again.  Dropping in to post my card for the Color Block Challenge with Lexi Daly.  Her Campbell's soup card is so stinkin' cute!  Make sure you pop over and check it out.

Here's my take:

I used Love Lives Here to create the butterflies and sentiment.  I love this little set.  It's one of those must-have stamp sets for me.

Thanks for stopping by!

PTI July 2016 Blog Hop

Hi, there!  Playing along in Papertrey Ink's July Blog Hop.  I am crazy for the colors in this month's inspiration photo.

Aren't you in love? Aqua and melon=happiness.

Here's my take on the challenge:

I used Twig Wreath  and Chevron Stripes to create this card.  I stamped the wreath in Soft Stone and inked my flowers in Aqua Mist, Blueberry Sky, and Melon Berry.

Thanks for stopping by!

SAF 2016: Pointillism Play with Heather Nichols

Hi, there!  I hope everyone's week is off to a good start.  My daughter started kindergarten today so it's been a different kind of morning for me!

Today's post is for PTI's #stampafaire2016 challenge:  Pointillism Play with Heather Nichols.  This was an interesting challenge for me because I've never heard or seen of this technique before.  I still can't get over the beautiful card Heather created using a pencil eraser!  Stop by and watch her to tutorial!

Here's my take on the challenge:

I used PTI's 2016 Anniversary set to create this card.  I previously made a similar card set for a friend and she asked for a few more so I thought I would try this technique out on one of her cards.  I love how it turned out!

I started off my stamping my flower in Winter Wisteria and penciled it in with Scarlet Jewel, Plum Pudding, and a tad more Winter Wisteria.  The stem was stamped in Lemon Tart and filled in with Spring Moss.

SAF 2016: Mastering Drips and Splats with Lizzie Jones

Oh, my!  Lizzie Jones has shared some fun splattering techniques with us this #stampafaire2016 weekend.  I love this tutorial, not only because it offered some useful hints, but most importantly, it made me feel like a kid again.  In fact, my 5 year old was quite interested in helping me out with this one!

Here's my take on the challenge:

The sentiment is from Ruby Reprise.

So much fun!

Thanks for stopping by!  I can't wait to see what you create!

SAF 2016: Watercolor Like a Master with Kay Miller

Hi, there.  I don't know about you but I am playing catch up this #stampafaire2016 weekend.  I am a little behind (and a little out of order) on challenges but am working to correct that!

The card below was created for PTI's Watercolor Like a Master with Kay Miller challenge.  I was super excited to see Kay's art come to life because I am a huge fan or her work but my execution of the whole watercolor technique is well, lacking.

Here's my take on the challenge:

I didn't stray too far from her floral placement or color scheme since this is a technique I want to learn.

Spiral Bouquet was used to create my sentiment and flowers.

SAF 2016: Masterpiece with the Team

Hi, there.  I still have a few challenges to catch up on but wanted to drop in with my card for the Masterpiece Challenge with the DT.  There were loads of lovely inspirational pieces to chose from but I chose to go with Betsy Veldman's artist pick, Ralph Hulett.  I fell in love with this Christmas in the City Scene.

Isn't it beautiful?  Don't forget to stop by Betsy's blog and she how she was inspired.  You won't be disappointed!

Here's my take on the challenge:

I used PTI's Tree Trimming Trio to emboss this pink little tree. The Santa silhouette is from Holiday Lane and the sentiment and snowflakes are from Snowflake Sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by!

SAF 2016: Gilded Gold with Danielle Flanders

I am having so much fun participating in this year's #stampafaire2016 over at Papertrey Ink.
Danielle Flanders delivered an awesome project tutorial this year.  She showed us several techniques on how to use Liquid Leaf in our crafts and I must say, I am in love.  Projects are simple to create and they come out stunning!
Here's my take on the challenge:

First, are a few tags I created.  I only wish I could photograph metallic's better because these are so much prettier in person!

I applied Liquid Leaf to both of the larger snowflakes and used Danielle's technique to create stripes on the other tag.  I agree with her on loving the brushstroke look!

Next, is a card I created using the same techniques.

The center snowflake, cut from Snowflake Medley dies, is painted in liquid leaf, as well as the stripes.  Rustic Wreath Stamps were used to create all of the sentiments in both projects and the gold embossed wreath.

So much fun! Thanks for stopping by! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

SAF 2016: Starry Night with Amy Sheffer

Hi, there! I hope everyone is off to a good start with Stamp-a-Faire.  We are boxing things up today for our upcoming move but I will drop in with some projects throughout the day.

I am in awe of Amy Sheffer's Starry Night Challenge.  She did a marvelous job creating a beautiful night sky for us.  I think I will have to try this technique again using and orange and gold inks for a spooky Halloween night sky!

Here's my take on the challenge:

I used Uncorked for my sentiment. I need to get some of those inspirational phrases from PTI! I love the 'Faith' sentiment Amy used.  The stars are from the Pumpkin Shaker die.

Added a few sequins.

Thanks for stopping by!  I can't wait to see what you create!

SAF 2016: Share Your Masterpiece

Hi, there!  It's Stamp-a-Faire 2016 over at Papertrey Ink and I am so excited to play along!  We just went under contract on our home a few days ago and many of my crafting goodies are stashed away.  It has been difficult to create these past two months but I have adopted a new motto for myself for this year's paper challenges...It's Stamp-A-Faire and I don't care!  Simply put, I may not have everything I need at my table to craft the way I want but I am going to do my best and have a blast!  I am looking forward to everyone's creations!

My first project is created for this evening's Gallery Reception.  We were asked to go through our projects and showcase a creation we are proud of.  Here's my card:

I decided to showcase Color Pop Florals because I can't seem to get enough of this little kit.  It provides endless hours of playtime and I have decided I must snag those little butterflies next!

Loads of PTI inks were used on my card:  Sweet Blush, Aqua Mist, Scarlet Jewel, Autumn Rose, Spring Moss, Pinefeather, and Winter Wisteria.  Chicken Scratch Gingham, Friendly Flowers, and Tremendous Tag dies were also used.

Fancy Flourishes was stamped in soft stone underneath my flowers.

Thanks for stopping by!  I look forward to seeing what you create this weekend!

Homemade Gingerbread

Hi, there.  I have quick post today for PTI's Create Along with Us Challenge.  There are so many inspirational projects from the DT for this month's release but I was overjoyed when I saw Melissa's sweet little gingerbread creation.

Here's how she inspired me:

I decided to pull out Lawn Fawn's Sweet Christmas stamps and dies.  It's such a cute little set.

I used Tim Holtz' Holiday Knit Stencil to layer on texture paste before painting on Angel Pink Memento Ink and PTI's Classic Kraft Ink.

I die cut my circle from PTI's Sweet Blush Paper using the Tinsel and Tags Scalloped Die.

Tremendous Tags and Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers was used to create the sentiment.

Texture Paste and Stencils...

Hi, there!  Playing along with Ashley in this week's Make it Monday.  She challenged us to create a project using stencils and texture paste.  This was definitely a challenge as I have never used paste before...so much fun! Be sure and check out Ashley's beautiful card!

I decided to create a tag for my project.

I used Tim Holtz' Honeycomb Stencil to add texture to my tag.  I then painted over it with Spun Sugar and Brushed Pewter Inks.

The circle and sentiments were cut and stamped from PTI's Don't Forget to Write kit.  So pretty!
