For a Friend

Good morning!  I wanted to make a little 'thank you' for a friend of mine. I decided on an ornament because I know cards inevitably get stuffed in a drawer and I wanted her to have something she could hang on her tree once a year and be reminded of how much she is appreciated!

I used the 'lacey ovals' spellbinders die and cut out a piece of cereal box to provide a sturdy backing for the ornament. I used the same die to cut out the pale pink paper that covers the chipboard.
Next, I used a spellbinders oval die to cut out out the striped paper. Before adhering to the chipboard, I distressed. all of the edges with Tim Holtz' vintage photo.

The sentiment and butterfly were stamped with a small Fiskars set I purchased at Joann's.

I made the flowers using spellbinders' itty bitty blossoms' that I colored with 'tattered rose' distress ink. I finished by adding pearl beads around the 'lace.'

I did complete the back of my project (although I not shown)  so I could write a little note to my friend.

Thanks for looking!

A Happy Christmas

I know it's only June but I am planning ahead for Christmas!  This is the second project I made for the Crafty Secrets June Linky party.  The image and background paper are from the Crafty Secrets Vintage Christmas Kit.  I had the hardest time deciding between their Retro and Vintage Christmas Kits but am very pleased with the Vintage.  I can see a use for every single design they included and I know I will treasure this kit for years to come!

The poinsettias and ornament were cut from a spellbinders die. The edges were traced with Krylon 14K gold.

Thanks so much for looking.  Happy Sunday!  God Bless!

'Crafty' Little Witch

Happy Friday!  I printed the image from Crafty Secrets' downloadable Halloween Jumbo Kit!  I absolutely adore this kit! I printed the image off, adhered her to black cardstock and popped it up on some paper I cut out with a Spellbinder's rectangle set.  I love that this image came with  distressing-no need to ink up but still has that great vintage feel-great when you are crunched for time!  I used baker's twine for a little flair and voila! A crafty little witch!
