Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #235

Hi, there!  I have a quick post for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday.  Laurie shared some insight into getting our projects to pop by adding additional color to stamped images.  I love this technique!

I created my first card using Papertrey's Brushed Blooms Stamp Set.  The flowers were inked in Pure Poppy and Scarlet Jewel before going over the blooms with pure poppy and red chili colored pencils.

Next, is a card created with PTI's Rustic Wreath and Love Lives Here sets.

Don't you just love Sweet Blush Ink?  My absolute favorite.

I stamped the sprigs in Spring Moss using PTI's Tinsel and Tags kit before adding color with pencils.
I like how you can deepen the veins of the sprigs this way.

Papertrey December 2015 Blog Hop

Good morning and happy day after Christmas! We had a wonderful time with family this year but now I am watching everyone pack up to head back to their homes and I am a tad sad. I hate to see everyone go. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas but I know this time can be difficult for some so for those, I hope you find peace in the New Year.

Today's project is for Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop Challenge. I am so happy our inspirational photo is Christmas themed. I am not ready to put away my Christmas supplies just yet.

Those sweet little plates reminded me of the wonderful tags that can be created with PTI's Tinsel and Tags kit.

Hurrying off to spend time with the family before they depart. I wish you a Happy New Year!

Christmas Polka

Hi, there!  I hope everyone is having a nice week. I created a couple of projects for Papertrey's Create Along with Us Challenge. There were a great many inspirational projects from the DT this month-I can't wait to see what inspired you!

I was completely smitten with Melissa Phillips's projects this week, especially this little gem:

Isn't this just darling? How cute is that little pink barn? I love it! And those pink polka dots make it that much sweeter. I couldn't help but pull out my sweet blush ink and get to crafting.

I decided to create a little treat bag, as well, but decided to go with a Christmas theme.

I heat embossed a tree from Tree Trimming Trio and filled it in with a few sweet blush ornaments.

Next up, is a tag created using the same set and same inspiration.  The tag sentiment is from Crafty Secrets' Snow Bunnies Clear Art Stamp set...only $2.50 at craftyvintagegirl.com! Don't forget to join in this month's Linky party

I couldn't get away from those sweet polka dots.

Snowflake Medley

Hi, I have a quick post for you today. Today's project was created for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday Challenge and the Crafty Secrets Linky Party.

For this week's Make it Monday, Ashley challenged us to embellish out projects with felt.  I love how felt can add richness or softness depending on the color palette you choose. Don't forget to drop by and check out her beautiful cards.

I am working on treat bags for my daughter's preschool class and decided to tie one in with both challenges. I created the felt bow using Papertrey's Tinsel and Tags and used PTI's snowflake medley, tag sale #4, and delightful doilies, as well.

The little snowman centerpiece is from Crafty Secrets' Retro Christmas Digital Downlad sheet...one of my favorite images.

Many apologies for the limited posting. My computer is on the fritz and I am working out of a not so user friendly app to post.  I do believe Santa might be bringing me a new one so I hope to be up and running again soon.

Wishing you and yours a very merry holiday season!

Season's Greetings

Hi, there. I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving. I had such a wonderful time with my Husband and our 3 little ones. It was truly a beautiful day.

I have a project for Papertrey's Make it Monday. This week, Danielle showed us the splatter technique.  Her project's are beautiful so please stop by and check out her tutorial.

I decided to make a rustic ornament using the splatter technique. I love how it turned out.

I started off by adhering jute to some vintage cream cardstock.

I used PTI's damask snowflake and wreath for all seasons to create the focal point.

A few close-ups of the splattered ink. I couldn't capture it so well on tree.

Papertrey November Blog Hop 2015

Happy day before Thanksgiving! I have a quick post for you today since my computer is shot and I am doing everything by phone.

Papertrey's inspirational photo for this month's blog hop challenge did not disappoint. Don't you just love this color scheme? Beautiful!

I can't wait to see the creative ideas from this challenge!  I decided to pull out my new confetti toss stamp set. I am over the moon about this set!  So fun!

Next up, I chose to use tinsel and tags set to create an ornament in this color scheme. The colors came out vibrant and shimmery but I had a difficult time doing it justice...let's just say I am not a photographer!

Thanks for stopping by. I cannot wait to see your creations! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

With Gratitude

Hi, there!  I hope everyone is having a great week.  I have completely procrastinated this year as I have not bought a single grocery item for Thanksgiving.  I guess I will have to face that crowd tomorrow...eek!  I do love Thanksgiving so it is all worth it.  There is nothing better than joining hands with my sweet little family and giving thanks for having one another.

I made a quick project for this week's Make it Monday Challenge.  Dawn shared a neat little trick with us on how to make our stamped images pop on kraft paper and I absolutely love this technique!  So simple and very effective.  Stop by and check out her tutorial.

I chose to use the darling little pumpkin from Spooky Sweets as my focal point  I love how Orange Zest looks against the white....so cute!

I used PTI's BB Heart Stamp Set to create the background...one of my favorite sets.

Spiral Bouquet and Stacked Statements were used to create the sentiments.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Merry Little Christmas...

Happy Wednesday! I am working on wrapping a few Christmas packages and thought I would share a project I created to dress one up.

I simply love aqua so I decided to add it to my Christmas decor this year. I purchased some plain aqua wrapping paper and plan on creating pink, red, silver, and gold tags this year.  Lots of fun!

I heat embossed my image on vellum using green embossing enamel before adhering it to my stamped card stock.

Holiday Folk Motif

Hi!  I'm popping in to share a quick card I made for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday.  Betsy has challenged us to create a project by building a large motif from smaller images.  Don't forget to stop by and check out her tutorial

I took Betsy's lead and decided to use the Holiday Folk Stamps to build my image.  I used the large snowflake stamp from Snowflake Sparkle for my focal point.

Wish List Ornaments

Hi, I wanted to share some ornaments I created for this month's Crafty Secrets Linky Party.  Last year, we decided  to start a new tradition by preserving a Santa's wish list for each of the kids.  They filled out their lists last year but I'm just now pulling these together. My only complaint is I wish I had thought of it sooner so we could look back on some of the things my oldest asked for!

I used papers from the Crafty Secrets Creating with Vintage Christmas Digital Kit as well as the Retro Christmas Digital Download Printable.

I added each of their names and the year to one side of the ornament...

And attached their Santa wish list to the other.

I added some Martha Stewart glitter and topped it with a bow.  It was difficult to capture without a glare but I love how they turned out. I am happy to cherish these as my kids get older.  I think we will start making these after Thanksgiving dinner this year since we usually decorate our tree that evening.

Christmas Tree Cheer

Hi, again.  I wanted to share a card I made for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday.  Ashley has challenged us to create a watercolor project by using a cover plate as a stencil.  Her design is absolutely beautiful.  Don't forget to stop by and check out her artwork and catch her tutorial.

I decided to use PTI's Hexagon Cover Plate for this challenge.  After cutting my stencil, I used a Spellbinders banner die to cut the shape of the tree.

Ripe Avocado, New Leaf, and Simply Chartreuse inks were used to color the tree.

Christmas Cheer sentiments were cut from Pure Poppy.

O Tannenbaum...

Hi, there!  I wanted to share a quick card I made for Papertrey's Make it Monday.  This week's challenge was led by Melissa (yay!) and was incredibly fun to put together.  Stop by and check out her tutorial on creating a fabric strip Christmas tree.  It's easy and beyond beautiful once complete.  Thanks, Melissa!

I chose not to stray far from Melissa's design.  I love the snowflake background and the little wooden buttons and sweet pearl ornaments...all lovely.

I have a soft spot for that little 'BELIEVE' sentiment.  I love the magic of Christmas.

Pink Christmas Joy

Today, I would like to share a project I made for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday Challenge.  Lizzie provided us with a great tutorial showcasing pearlized blending and I am hooked.  Don't forget to play along as one lucky winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to shop in their store.

For my project, I decided to create a pink shimmery tree.

I used PTI's Sweet Blush and  Tim Holtz' Spun Sugar Distress Ink for blending.

The deer image was purchased from the Cameo Shoppe and adhered to an epoxy dome.

Snowflake Sparkles, Tinsel and Tags, and  Christmas Joy Stamp sets were used to create the background papers.
